Stardust and chaos,
thunder and lightning,
I wasn’t built to be caged.
I’ve grown too comfortable
with leaping from cliffs,
the rush of crisp air and
intoxication of open skies,
quiet, unspoken addictions.
When I leave and migrate to
an unknown, endless horizon,
search for warmth and space,
I carry our yesterdays on my back.
But if you ever doubt my return,
think my tomorrows will replace
the harmony of our duets with
new, unfamiliar, eclectic notes.
Please know,
you’re always my destination.
